When we care for ourselves, establish clear boundaries, and reflect deeply on our work, we’re able to show up with the clarity and presence our patients deserve.

I’m Stacey Elliott.

My approach

For more than a decade, I’ve supported and supervised clinicians at different stages of their careers. I believe that in order to provide excellent clinical care, we must first care for ourselves. When we attend to our own needs, establish healthy boundaries, and create sustainable ways of working, we’re better able to serve our patients and model a healthier culture within our field.

In this work, we are the tool. The quality of care we provide depends not only on our knowledge and training, but on how we show up. We serve best when we are regulated, grounded, and authentic.

Peer consultation offers a space where an experienced psychiatrist can think alongside you as you navigate diagnostic conundrums, therapeutic impasses, and the practical challenges of building and sustaining your practice.

My peer consultation model is grounded in psychodynamic principles, focusing on:

  • The clinician as the instrument

  • Supporting a sustainable practice

  • Collaborative reflection on complex clinical work

FAQs

  • In mental health work, the clinician is one of the most important instruments in the therapeutic process. Our presence, clarity, and capacity to think deeply with our patients are shaped by how well we care for ourselves. When clinicians have space to reflect on their reactions, establish healthy boundaries, and build sustainable ways of working, we are better able to show up with the steadiness and authenticity that excellent clinical care requires.

  • Peer consultation is designed for early-career psychiatrists, PMHNPs, and other independently licensed mental health clinicians who are looking for a collaborative space to reflect on clinical work, explore diagnostic uncertainty, navigate professional challenges, and build a sustainable practice.

  • Consultation sessions are conversational and collaborative. You may bring a specific de-identified clinical case, a therapeutic impasse, questions about countertransference, or broader challenges related to your practice, and we’ll think through them together in a reflective, supportive way. Sessions can take place in person or virtually, and may be one-on-one or in a small group format. Meetings typically last 45–90 minutes, depending on the needs of the clinician or group.

  • My consultation rate is $500 per hour, with flexible scheduling to meet your needs. Individual consultation sessions can be as brief as 30 minutes, while group sessions are structured at a minimum of 15 minutes per participant.

Groups may include up to four clinicians, with one participant coordinating payment. This allows multiple clinicians to share both the time and cost while benefiting from collaborative discussion.

Example: A 4-person group consultation for one hour would cost $500 total, which can be divided among participants so that each pays $125.

This flexible structure ensures consultation can be tailored to your needs, whether you’re looking for focused individual support or collaborative group discussion.

  • Start by completing the contact form below, where you’ll have the option to schedule a brief phone call. During this call, we can discuss what you’re looking for, the types of challenges you’d like support with, and the features of individual or group consultation. Depending on your needs, we can then schedule either a one-time consultation or an initial consultation session to determine whether ongoing consultation would be a good fit.
